From Tara to frat house and back.
Wanting a home with period charm and character, my clients chose to renovate a home built in 1906. In its former glory, it boasted a Tara-like grand staircase that had, many decades ago, been cut in half to create dorm rooms for a fraternity house.
After an 18-month renovation full of surprises (many of them good!), the grand stairway is now, once again, grand.
Showcasing a large collection of English pottery, the kitchen was designed for function, storage and frequent entertaining. The large center island is only one gathering area, while the cozy sofa nook and casual dining area beckon. A hidden storage compartment in the island is designed as an escape for the homeowner’s guest-weary four-year-olds!
