I’m sexy and I know it.
When my client’s moved from downtown Chicago to their “forever home” in NC, I was challenged to refresh the dated millwork in virtually every room of the house and create a unified design theme.
Inspired by the serene pastoral fields surrounding the home, we created an earthy but elegant interior, choosing woods for their grain pattern and stone for texture and color. The choice of a simple white paint for the walls provided a clean backdrop for their artwork collection and allowed the natural materials to stand out as art on their own.
The oh-so-hip company, 3-Form, made me a special glass panel with a walnut veneer core to disguise the entrance to the walk-in pantry. Then they patiently imbedded each branch in the custom resin panel that separates the front entry hall from the living room.
The once sparse media room is now full of warmth and layered texture. Newly beamed ceilings are papered in dark cork and walls are dressed in grasscloth and leather panel. Custom wool velvet draperies draw to allow viewing any time of the day.
The overall effect is that the outdoors is welcomed inside for a swanky cocktail party. Sadly, I had to give them back their keys when I finished.
